U10 and above need to be balanced. Coaches and Commissioners of these
divisions will need to form balanced teams based upon evaluations of
players in pre-season practices.
Coaching
Classes
- All coaches
in AYSO are required to take at least the basic coaches class called
Safe Haven. It is highly recommended to also take the class specific
for the age group you are coaching.
- Upper
division coaches U16/U19 are required to take the Intermediate Coaches
Class.
- If you
cannot come to a coaching class at our field, there are classes
offered through other regions that are open to coaches.
- The Safe
Haven course can also be completed online at www.aysosm.org/safehaven/
Other
Tips
- Make
sure to recruit other parents to help with the team activities. (Assistant
Coach, Team Parent.) They can cover you when you need to be away, make
phone calls, set up the snack list, etc.
- Keep
in contact with your Division commissioner who sets the schedule for
your division and places players on teams. (See list of board
members and commissioners)
